I was already happy that they didnt cut off the broadcast of Trooping 3 Seconds before they stepped out on the balcony as they did in recent years.

Yesterday for the Service of Thanksgiviong the Broadcast weas really short. Only the Service. Had recorded the Trooping but my Recorder did not cooperate and only recorded the half of it.

Dont have a recorder so I had to tune in after work, but luckily before HM stepped out for the first time.

I didnt expect the Service to be broadcasted at all. Watched only the arrivals online.

On Thursday i was at work the entire day and could only watch small parts between. Watched also the arrivals online yesterday and was surprised that the Service itself was not available online.

The little Cambridge kids look so bored. I think this is all a bit too adult for them, I'm surprised their parents brought them as they must have known it wasn't really for children their age.

The opening with Her Majesty and Paddington was simply marvellous! What a lady!

They had better let them at home this afternoon to let them rest for this expericence. They'll probably better remember the concert. And I think it is great that they are there. The atmosphere and everything sticks to a childs mind. And at seven and nine they are old enough to, for one night, come out of a childs world with her nanny in her nursery.

I agree they are old enough to attend, if the content is a bit boring that is another matter. I wish though they'd found a way to sit the Phillip's girls a little closer so they'd have similar aged cousins to interact with - not a deal breaker at all but might have made it a bit more fun for them.

Yes, that would have been a good idea, I agree.

I just meant it's mainly boring for children their age and they have looked bored during most of it.

George did also look bored this afternoon (and on other occasions), maybe it's just his resting face.

Children have to get used to things, otherwise they stay children forever.

I saw the Gloucesters

Is that Lady Alexandra Hooper or Leonora Knatchbull

I am seriously thinking that there is not going to be any foreign royals at the Jubilee.

Surely Margareta and Radu of Romania were at the Trooping of the Colour

The Cambridge family shouldn't travel together in the same helicopter. Normally in monarchies the heirs to the throne do not travel together in the same transport.

The UK used to have a blanket ban on the heirs flying together (never had a ban on them travelling by car, train or ship/boat). That was changed in 1983 when Diana insisted that William accompany Charles and herself on the visit they made to Australia and NZ. The rule was then changed to no flying together after the child turned 12 although there were exceptions made for that in both 1997 and 2002 when William was able to fly from Balmoral to London with Charles for Diana's funeral and again when William was able to fly from Switzerland to the UK after the death of the Queen Mother. Harry was always able to fly with Charles.

I have a question about the Platinum Jubilee Medal, if it has already been answered then my apologies.

I noticed that the male members of the family were wearing it at St Paul’s, Jack Brooksbank and Edo Mapelli Mozzi included. However it appeared that Mike Tindall was not wearing one and neither was Viscount Severn. Surely they would have also received one and if not why?

Mike was wearing three medals - his MBE and two jubilee medals (Diamond and Platinum).

For whatever reason the decision was made that James wouldn't wear a medal and he would have both the Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals based on the past issuing of those medals to children.

Thank you! I only had seen Mike’s Instagram and he wasn’t wearing any medals which made me wonder. However I see you are right and that he had them on by the time he got to the cathedral!

Yes sometimes but I don't think this was something they necessarily had to attend.

Have loved the celebrations this year for the jubilee. All I wish is that my friend wasn't so boring, tried to ask her if she wanted to line up the mall with me next year and she just said no, I'm crazy like that but she isn't very fun most of the time lol

Is the Queen expected to make an appearance/speech tommorw

His MBE decoration of course is not a medal, but rather a badge, or what in other countries is called a cross. Lower grades in the Order of the British Empire like OBEs and MBEs wear the badge from a ribbon on the left chest, which makes it look like a medal.

The four Cambridges all travelled in the same helicopter. Again. They really should stop doing that. I'm surprised it's allowed.

There are hundreds and hundreds of heirs in the British line of succession.

It's sad that HM The Queen couldn't be at the concert in person with the rest of her family (although the skit with Paddington was charming). As a small consolation, she may have been able to privately celebrate the birthday of her second youngest great-grandchild in the meantime.
