If your wife, mother of 3, receives this diagnostic, pretty much anything can be considered “personal reason”. She’s dealing with an awful reality, so anything her husband can do to help I’m sure he’ll do it, including cancelling his presence at a private event.
Anyway, in light of today’s...
And then people will say it’s not the real Catherine, that “she was replaced by some alien impostor”.
There’s no argument worthy having with these people.
To be honest, at this point, I HOPE she made a plastic surgery as well (if that's her wish of course), she has already endured media scrutiny, so why not take the advantage of staying out of the public eye for months? She'll not have an opportunity as good as this.
In their defense, maybe KP used the "personal reasons" argument because the Memorial was, in fact, a personal commitment? I guess if William had to cancel an official appearance more details would be given to the press.
From an official and technical point of view, you're quite right. The King as head of state is the most important person and has to be seen. But let's not be naive, from a public relations point of view, Catherine is the star of the show these days, there's no one who can command the same...
That's a very interesting point. The King made sure to release some statement thanking all for their well-wishes etc. One could argue it's because he's sick and his disease, which is quite serious, was made public. On the contrary, the Princess has stayed silent and we don't even know if she's...
I agree "personal reasons" is a poor choice of words, but can you imagine the fuss the media would make if the palace announced he's ill (even if it's a cold or something).
In the aftermath of the announcement, I've discovered so many interesting things about her life, what a remarkable and talented woman she is!
Congratulations on your 52 years of service Ma'am. Well done!
Last year's xmas message was recorded at St. George's Chapel. I wonder if this year's we'll see a return to Buckingham Palace, or maybe somewhere new like Clarence House.
