Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg was 17 the first time she wore a tiara. While almost every family tends to stick to the "wait until 18" for a tiara, it's not necessarily a hard and fast rule.
I can see someone making an exception for this event, given it happens so very rarely. We haven't...
I don't know anything about the Savoys so I can't comment on it. Perhaps a bit more comparable than the Germans, but again, I don't know. What I do know is hard hard the Greek Government fought against the royals to keep them out.
Considering they seem to make comments whenever the Greeks try...
You cannot compare them when the Greek government has been so anti-Constantine & his family for decades. They were only recently (last 20 years) allowed back into the country to live.
These are two completely different cases and should not be compared, except to say that the German government...
Victoria and Haakon did receive it on their 18th birthday as well.
I think it would be utterly surprising if all of Frederik's children don't receive it upon their 18th birthday. They will all be the children of the future monarch (should nothing bad happen before then).
Exactly.
If Nikolai and Felix were actually working for the crown, then I could see the bitterness. But they aren't even in the military. They show up for the fancy events they're invited to and otherwise, Nikolai is using his title to get modeling gigs or what have you.
Monarchy isn't what it...
Given that the Naasut was given to Margrethe for her 40th Anniversary, it may be that it belongs to the Crown/state and not to her, therefore only the Queen can wear it. But it's been a long time since I thought about it, so I can't remember exactly.
I think it may be too gold for this gown...
To be fair, she's almost only worn the Ruby Parure to this event. She wore the Ruby Necklace Tiara once. This isn't the event to debut a new tiara (though I was hoping she might get to finally borrow one of the Queen's lesser worn tiaras. I know she's going to, likely, get to wear them as Queen...
Someone with better access to Danish media might know better, but the earliest I've found is maybe 1988 or 1989? I haven't been able to find anything from most of the 80s New Year's Courts. I think I've found photos from the 1988 and 1989 courts, but with websites closing or locking people out...
Is this really necessary? It's fine if you disagree with my opinion on his attitude, but there's no need to be rude.
I stand by my statement. Nikolai and Felix undertake no royal duties and should not/do not need to be Prince's. I'm sure it must be frustrating to have something for 20+ years...
What earning??? Nikolai and Felix have never undertaken official duties for the Queen in their adulthood, have they? That, to me, is earning the title of Prince/ss in this day and age. Running around and getting to be called Prince while you do nothing for the royal house is entitled.
I'm...
