Maybe in these times of economic austerity, the King is only throwing his brother a wedding reception for every other wedding? :flowers:
If they are going to have a reception I hope they have it soon-or the inevitable divorce announcement will be made at the reception
Given the devestating news about Prince Frisco, I am also wondering if HM will now want to continue on.... On the other hand this could strengten her resolve to go on, to allow W-A and Maxima to spend as much time with their daughters as possible
Two Separate Issues
1) The royal appenge: It is unclear, at least to me, if Parliament provides Carl Gustaf his monies just for his services as monarch or if the monies are meant as compensation for duties that the entire royal family performs. If it is monies just meant for the King than...
I think deep down Carl-Philip does harbor some resentment towards Victoria for the change. His recent behavior indicates that he does not care much if the Monarchy in Sweden was abolished. While he may not be actively working towards this, deep down he may feel "serves right" if this were to happen
With all the negative press that the SRF have had they need members who are willing to go on about their job without causing scandals or seeking unfavourable attention. IMO, this is not Sofia.
The answer to this question is based on perception. There are a lot of different opinions on who is the laziest Royal based on what we see the Royals do.
Anne is considered hard-working because she has been doing a lot of engagements over the last few decades. Charles may currently do more...
I don't know what would happen.
I belive Parliament would have to pass some sort of law/Act to regulate this as was done in 1831..
William's child would have a better claim to the throne than its Uncle regardless of gender so I think there would be an act passed making Harry or Kate regent...
When the DoE retires or passes on, Camilla will have to take on most of his duties-as spouse of the future King. Which means Catherine will take on a lot of Camilla's duties.
The only career that William has the luxury of maintaining is that of future monarch. If the Windsors are getting bad press now, they cannot begin to imagine the bad press if William as POW continues to have an army career and his wife continues to play housewife while being supported by monies...
Yes there are currently 15 working royals but only 6 of these 15 are really considered elderly. There will be another addition at some point of Prince Harry's spouse. That's 7 Royals to handle 3000 engagements a year-thats less than 500 engagements per Royal per year. If The Duke of Edinburugh...
Yes they can-on behalf of existing MINOR children because per law a parent can make decisions for their minor offspirng. However if the child has reached the age of majority they have to make the decision for themselves.
I don't understand why Edward VIII had to abdicate on behalf of his...
I am a staunch royalist and even I think it would be ridiculous to have the York girls on the royal payroll....
Times have drastically changed and the Royal Family is not needed to do as much as it used to in the past and the ones that are working for the firm need to do a lot more “work” than...
Daniel's Title
I had questions about Daniel's Duke of Vastergotland title. I believe that he does not hold the title in his own right he just has it because he is Victoria's husband right? Thus, say if Victoria and Daniel were to divorce and he to remarry his new wife would not be the Duchess...
