Prince and Princess Akishino have a son: Prince Hisahito

My congratulations to the Imperial Family, especially to Princess Kiko, and may Prince Hisahito be healthy! IVF-PGD-ET or no such alphabet soup, he is a most welcome addition into the most ancient Imperial House on Earth. :)

Princess Kiko is Pregnant for the 3rd time

In my opinion announcing a child's gender before birth is a bit premature, even if one is not a scion of the Imperial family. Ultrasound is not 100% error-free in determining it. Even if, for medical reasons, invasive methods which reveal fetus's chromosomal set were used earlier in the course...

Princess Kiko is Pregnant for the 3rd time

Surely there is no kind of obstetrical medical treatment that is can be somehow necessitated by any of the IHA's concerns and inherently dangerous to the Princess, and I am sure that she has access to the best that the Japanese obstetrics and gynaecology can offer.

Members of the Extended Romanov Family, past and present

They are Ferrand and Ikonnikov. :) Never read them, though. Arguably the most prominent noble families are featured in the website of Miroslav Marek, http://www.genealogy.euweb.cz/russia/russia.html

Members of the Extended Romanov Family, past and present

A lot of the nobles were indeed the victims of Soviet repressions, but a lot of them survived; some in fact prospered, like Count Alexei Tolstoy (he had dropped his title, of course :)). So, we have Golitsyns and Obolenskis still, and we have the Russian Nobility Assembly which vets its member...

Members of the Extended Romanov Family, past and present

Well, a lot of representatives of our noble families have had no need to move back, as they have lived in theUSSR/Russia all the time. :) Some of the aristocrats have indeed returned from Europe after 1991, but they were mostly very old people wanting to die in the land of their forefathers.

Reburial of Empress Marie Feodorovna: 23-28 September 2006

The latter, I think -- old coffins are quite erm... unsightly to behold.

Reburial of Empress Marie Feodorovna: 23-28 September 2006

Let us keep a bit closer to the topic, shall we? There is a neighbour of a thread dedicated to Maria Vladimirovna and her claims. :) Wonder whether I would be able to visit St Petersburg in these September days. I think that there will be some time allotted to the common people to see and to...

Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna: Current Claimant to the Throne 1: 2003 - Oct 2006

Well, the Emperor was not charged with anything in any court, not even in a revolutionary tribunal. He and his family were the victims of extrajudicial execution. Thus, Nicholas II indeed cannot be cleared of any charges.

Anna Anderson's claim to be Grand Duchess Anastasia

I do not know, and what do you think? :)

Anna Anderson's claim to be Grand Duchess Anastasia

So the conspiracy has to be so multifaceted that its different partners act on their own accord, simultaneously managing to keep everything secret for 80+ years?

Anna Anderson's claim to be Grand Duchess Anastasia

Unfortunately it have to be all those people... and even some more. Mistakes happen, especially in hospitals. I know that... ;)

    Duchy of Cornwall

Quite so, I doubt that there was some kind of formal investiture for future George V, as this kind of formal ceremony is not necessary when creating someone PoW. Was there George's investiture in the Parliament at least then? I doubt it.

    Duchy of Cornwall

If the Duke of Cornwall has no surviving legitimate issue, either male or female, the next eldest brother becomes the Duke of Cornwall. The ducal title reverts to the Crown. Yes, immediately upon King Edward VII's accession he became the Duke of Cornwall (actually George was holding two...

Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna: Current Claimant to the Throne 1: 2003 - Oct 2006

Actually the Treaty of Georgievsk was superseded by the 1800 manifesto of Paul I annexing Kartli-Kakheti. Though the treaty was to have permanent validity, Emperor Paul I's manifesto of Dec. 18, 1800, unilaterally declared the annexation of Kartalinia-Kakhetia to Russia, and on Sept. 12, 1801...
