    Is this interesting?

Very true. My most recent monarch in my family tree is Edward III, so I'd suppose I have a decent set of royals and nobles. I had also seen my dad was possibly descended from Roland de Velville (1474-1535), the illegitimate French son of Henry VII (1457-1509); Roland's mother is described as "an...

    Is this interesting?

I've recently discovered my own royal & noble descent, which is nice! I'm a direct descendant of the following royals. Please let me know of royal & noble lineage I may not be aware of. 1. King Owain The Great ("King of All Wales") (1087-1170) 2. Noble - Roger Mortimer, 1st Earl March...
  3. Q

    The Plantagenets (1154-1399)

This may be off topic. I'm trying to trace the ancestry of Philip DeSpencer (through his daughter, Margery - from Nettlestead, Suffolk - who died in 1478) to the Plantagenet king, Edward I (through Edward's daughter, Joan of Acre). Margery married Sir Roger Wentworth, and they had a daughter...

The Spencer Family, Ancestry and Althorp 1: Ending Aug. 2023

I had asked some Diana ancestry questions on this forum last year, the last time I’d been here. I saw that a lot of them weren’t answered.

I already knew that. But, is Diana related to any Canadian ancestors through being related to Sarah?

Interesting! I know Diana and Camilla are related. Is Diana related to any of Sarah or Camilla’s Canadian relatives, via one of Camilla or Sarah’s ancestors?

Is Diana related to Champlain? Champlain (I presume) is the man who was sent to Canada to (I guess) establish a settlement there in the 1600s. One of the King Henry’s of France sent Champlain to Canada.

Also, is Diana related to any of the founders of the 13 Colonies (William Penn, George Carteret, etc.)?

Both Sarah & Camilla’s Canadian bloodlines are heavily written about under the Ancestry section of their Wikipedia pages.

It could be any of those three. I’d even say Princess Di—since she is 1/8 American. I almost said Sarah, Duchess of York and Camilla too, but I know for a fact that both of them have a Canadian ancestry; so, I excluded them in my questions.

This is all that the book says (with direct descendants listed in bold font): France section (page 71): “HRH’s (William, DoCambridge) forebears include the great historian Geoffroy de Villehardouin. HRH’s most recent French ancestress was Hyacinthe Gabrielle Roland, Marchioness Wellesley. But...

I did read the replies. I have a book that says the BRF is directly related to the Polignac side of royalty. But, they didn’t give an actual chart. The book is “Ancestry of The Royal Child”. Direct descendants are in bold, and the Polignacs are listed in bold under the France section of the book.
