Photoshopping Royal Tiaras and Jewels 2

Madame, I'm not critical of your work. I just think that ensemble doesn't work for Kate. (I know that I'd look silly with the headband too.) But how would we know unless we try to picture her wearing it? (I think she's an attractive young woman.) But it is interesting to play "what if" and see...

Kate looks like a hippy in that assemblage. Not a very good look for her IMO.

Prince Andrew (1882-1944) and Alice, Princess Andrew Of Greece (1885-1969)

Perhaps Margarita had a spontaneous mutation in her genes which caused his condition. After all, there were no known ancestors of Queen Victoria who had the disease or were carriers.

Duchess of Cornwall Jewellery 6: January 2008-September 2011

I do like Camilla's engagement ring, and I am actually excited that Camilla is wearing some of the Queen Mother's jewels. It's a shame that some of the older pieces (from the 1920s) had been retired and I really like seeing these Art Deco pieces (for the first time in my life!).

Royal Descendants from the Prophet Mohammad

The entire British Royal Family descend from Muhammad and his grandson Hussein. The Arab kings of Seville married into the royal families of Castile and Portugal, which married other European royal families. I would assume most European royals are also descendants.

The Most Insane Royal In History?

Of course, Sissi was the cousin to King Ludwig of Bavaria, who had a mania for building and seems to have been a Howard Hughes-type character. We have him to thank for the lovely fairy tale castle, Neuschwanstein.

Children of King Abdullah & Queen Rania: Part 1

I don't think it's anything to worry about. It's like most boys want to be a police officer or a fire fighter. (Even if parents refuse to buy them toy guns or swords, little boys find sticks and pretend.) Even William and Harry were seen in uniform when they were young.

    Crown Princess Mary's Eveningwear Part 6: January 2010 - May 2010

Dee, I don't think the Duke of M said he/she has such an article, just that it's a possibility the CP had been drinking/had a late night before.

The Late Diana, Princess of Wales News & Questions Thread 8: June 2008- 2020

Yes, Margaret was born at Glamis Castle, one of the residences of the Bowes-Lyon family. But the Queen Mother might not have been born in Scotland, there seems to be some question as to where she was born.

The Late Diana, Princess of Wales News & Questions Thread 8: June 2008- 2020

The only Scottish, and that's dubious, was the Queen Mother. Look at Prince Philip. The child of a Battenberg and Sondersburg-Glucksburg, raised partially in Germany. And Elizabeth Windsor aka Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. The Windsors attempted to make themselves British after the outbreak of World War...

Duchess of Cornwall Jewellery 6: January 2008-September 2011

My guess, although I'm not a jewelry expert, is that there are at least two brooches with the PoW plums... plumes I mean! LOL. But to slightly change the discussion, has anyone ever seen Camilla wear any other jewelry which might have been worn by Diana? I would suspect Camilla hasn't. (And in...

Victoria and Daniel's Wedding Suggestions & Musings

Camilla hasn't been to any of the big weddings since she married the PoW, has she? It would be appropriate for them to go together, and one of the boys, probably William, who ought to be putting in some "face time" with the other future rulers.

Have to agree with Scooter. The treasure trove is big enough to cover Camilla head-to-toe without her having to wear anything associated with Diana. But I don't think it's intended as a slight. If anything, Camilla seems to go out of her way to avoid upsetting the young princes by forcing a...

    Princess Benedikte's Fashion and Style Part 1: July 2009 - December 2019

That was the dress. I just thought it was unusual, I've never seen a see-through over-skirt on a lady that age. I hadn't noticed the lipstick but it was garish. (I just looked at Camilla the other day and realized she wears a nude tone, and I thought it was very becoming. Sometimes QEII's...

    Princess Benedikte's Fashion and Style Part 1: July 2009 - December 2019

I was intrigued by the black dress worn at the reception recently. It looks like it has a see-through skirt. Does anyone have a better photo? What do you think of the ensemble?

King Abdullah of Jordan's Working Visit to Spain: January 27, 2010

I know we're always trying to read something into the body language in photographs, but does anyone else agree that it's striking how close Letizia was standing to the King during the official photographs with the King of Jordan? I ask because "everyone" says they are so alienated, and here I'm...

    Princess Letizia's Daytime Fashion Part 11: December 2009 - February 2010

Not too keen on the buttons ornamenting the skirt of the dress but I like the color on her. Did she favor platform shoes before she took up with the Prince of the Asturias, or is that just an effort to neutralize his height? I don't remember.

Princess Beatrice of York Current Events 13: October 2009-July 2011

Beatrice looked quite lovely in the black... a much better choice for her than the pink would have been. Have to agree about the black booties... yes, I know they're fashionable but not my cup of tea with a dress.

The Act of Settlement 1701 and the Line of Succession 1: Ending 2022

Thank you, Iluvbertie. You answered my question very nicely. I did quite a bit of graduate work on the Tudors and Stuarts, and we had to study the background of the Act of Settlement. My guess is that the writers never considered that their royals might stop marrying other royals (you'd get the...

Official Photos of Victoria and Daniel: Released January 21, 2010

They really are great photographs. I like the drapey dress that looks gray. And she looks like a combination of Crown Princess Mary and her mother when she's in the blue. What a pretty woman, although I think she's looking very thin again. Hope she's not getting stressed about the wedding...
