Hiya folks.

I've got an odd question and thought I'd bring it here.

King Edward VII & Queen Alexandra had their original coronation date of June 26, 1902, then the King got appendicitis.

I came across a woven silk portrait of King Edward VII & Queen Alexandra and it has the date of June 26, 1902, clearly a coronation memento.

My question is this: would the silk having the original date, and not the actual August date, have any effect of the value of the silk?

Thanks so much!

In my view it’s likely to increase the value, as it has the unusual story of the King’s operation and postponed Coronation behind it. However I’m not American and not an antique dealer. I have no idea as to what interest there is in royal memorabilia in the US. It would certainly sell in Britain, depending on condition of course. Why not consult a reputable antique dealer in a large metropolitan city near to you, or perhaps a big auction house specialising in antiques of all kinds.
