To me the difference is that Andrew and Harry work for their royal title. We see photos of it, if we want to find out. They meet the common people of their country in their duties. Even Carl Philip works, although too little. But Madeleine doesn't work hardly at all, she comes to Sweden to attend at the family celebrations and "represents" like that. But she hasn't hardly any if none, normal royal solo work duties in Sweden. She wants to have all the royal glory without any boring obligations. I know that she works for the World Childhood Foundation, but she could do that as mrs Madeleine Bernadotte O'Neill. We all have our opinions and this is mine. The criticism against the royal family, how much they work and how they spend their apanage is growing all the time. As a fan of the swedish royal family I'm concerned about the future of it.
I have to agree on some points you state! Princes Andrew and Harry served as servicemen for their country and overtook a huge workload of royal duties. Both are the monarchs son (one of them already, the other one in the future), which none of Prcss Madeleines children ever will be.
Royal titles always go with high expectations from the public. I still don´t know why in times of scaling down royal families to prevent too much costs for the state (many members of a royal family= much money from the civil list), the King insisted on making this particular grandchild a royal princess and created her a duchess...? I mean, what´s wrong with being a commoner? Both his daughters married one. That things are different for Victoria and Estelle is fair enough and no one would criticise that.
I doubt if Prcss Madeleine is to blame here! I´m sure if the King said something like "Make a decision. If you marry Chris your children will be little Mr. and Miss O´Neills", she surely would have agreed on that!
But why children of a princess who obviously enjoys living abroad and not being too fond about working as a Royal have to have royal titles and tax payers money from the civil list that goes with it when they´ll come of age when saving it would have been so easy is beyond me...?!
But don´t get me wrong: I like the O´Neills, they´re a beautiful family with a lovely cute little daughter. But that´s not my point.
