Hello
Her name is Margaret Withers, she is definitely Eurasian, half American, half Malaysian if i'm not mistaken (a friend of a friend) and I have heard nothing but good things about her, a gorgeous person with an even more beautiful heart so it is no surprise that Prince Mateen has chosen her to be his girlfriend. They met at school as they both went to Jerudong international school. She seems to have "met the fam" and holidays with them.
In reply to these royals (Puan Mariam's children) being "snobs", though I respect your own opinion, I offer readers mine. They are sweet kids with a lot on their plate, they may have been born with a silver spoon in their mouths and have had everything they've ever desired by at least they're down to earth. They offer up seats, sit on floors, eat "nasi katok", hang out with their friends at the beach, cafes, the mall, go to the cinema etc. They're pretty normal considering their riches and this is never a bad thing. Did you ever stop to think that maybe all the pressure put on them when in Brunei is a little overwhelming? May this "childish" behaviour is their outlet? Again, this is only my opinion.
Now I may not know these royals on a very close personal level but I have met them a couple of times and I do know they're adopted siblings and it isn't a rare sighting to see Azim, Azemah, Fadzilah or Mateen walking about with their friends, playing badminton or having a meal around Brunei. I'm just about 99% sure that they are allowed to date whomever they please, royal blooded or not.
Also, Brunei although barely liveable in terms of entertainment for us commoners, is far from boring for said royals with Prince Mateen having recently (last weekend if im not mistaken) had a celebrity filled "leaving" party as he's off to further his studies in the UK.
We all know that they are all very close with their mother, but recently I saw that they are close to the Queen's children, often fondly calling their older brothers "Abang" etc and asking how they are and hoping they are well. More importantly, they are very close to their father, the Sultan. All these kids are on Twitter and they speak of him, as well as their other family members, lovingly the last time I checked. Azemah often refers to her mother and sister Fadzilah her "heart". Pictures of them blowing birthday cakes surrounded by their siblings and father are shown as well so it seems they are pretty family orientated.
Again, this is what I hear and sometimes see, there seems to be a little bit of bitterness out there about these kids so hopefully this will show the human side of them.
