Victoria gives tomorrow a speech at "Har vi plats för plast i en hållbar framtid?" seminar at Finlandsinstitutet.

We humans get microplastics equivalent to one credit card a week, according to a research report by the World Nature Fund WWF. Researchers believe that in the near future we have more plastic than fish in our oceans.
In both Sweden and Finland, there are strategies to reduce the problems of plastic waste. Finland has developed a roadmap for a sustainable plastic economy, while the Swedish government states in the government declaration that the marine environment must be strengthened and the spread of microplastics is combated. A state investigation in Sweden last year presented a report with proposals for sustainable plastic use.
From Sweden Isabella Lövin, the Minister for Environment and Climate, and Deputy Prime Minister, speaks also at the seminar. And from Finland Krista Mikkonen, the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, speaks at the seminar.

The Crown Princess at a sustainability seminar at the Finnish Institute
On Monday, December 2, the Crown Princess attended the seminar Do we have room for plastic in a sustainable future? at Finlandsinstitutet in Stockholm.
Upon arriving, the Crown Princess was received by Anders Eriksson, Director of the Institute and Tove Ahlström, CEO of Global Challenge.
Then the Crown Princess began with a speech in which she said:
“Maybe you are the one who will decide on a new treatment plant for many billions of swedish kronas. Maybe you should design a new packaging for your company's best-selling product. Or do you just decide what to do with the kids' old toys - sell, donate or recycle?
No matter what, you are a decision maker. Your choices - both the ones you make and the ones you refrain from making - they matter. Today and for a long time to come. "

Finlandsinstitutet at its Twitter
"H.R.H. The Crown Princess begins the seminar by quoting Tove Jansson as well as highlighting our neighboring countries' history, friendships and nature. "We Swedes and Finns understand each other by nature"."

Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet:
Crown Princess Victoria became interested in plastic turmoil in Sweden and Finland
The Crown Princess felt that each of us is a decision-maker about her or his life with the plastic. The sustainability experts were not completely in agreement.
Otso Sillanaukee, a Aalto student, is passionate about rubbish. He has established himself as a champion for zero waste and shows on the big screen a small jam jar of glass with all the recyclable waste he had personally produced for a year.
"Most of it was plastic", he says of the garbage dominated by tablet packaging for medicine.
He shows his minimal number of gadgets in his bathroom. And the deodorant he himself mixes of coconut fat, baking powder, potato starch and a little salt.
- But I had never in my wildest dreams imagined that one day I would present my deodorant to the Crown Princess of Sweden! he laughs in front of a crowded banquet hall at the Finnish Institute at Birger Jarlsgatan in Stockholm.
Crown Princess Victoria sits on the front row. She was present on Monday at a seminar on plastic and environment in Finland and Sweden that the institute arranged. Also in place were both countries' environmental ministers, Krista Mikkonen from Finland and Isabella Lövin from Sweden, from each green party.
"Everyone is a decision maker"
However, everything about the plastic crisis in the world does not depend on the ministers who sat on the front row of her company, but on each of us, said the Crown Princess.
- Maybe you are the one who will decide on a new treatment plant for many billions of kronor. Maybe you should design a new packaging for your company's best-selling product. Or do you just decide what to do with the kids' old toys - sell, donate or recycle? No matter which one you are a decision maker, she said.
In her speech, Victoria saw the strongest link between Finland and Sweden in nature. The Swedes understand what Tove Jansson means when the Baltic Sea can glitter an early, very warm morning in July, and the Finns know how the shadows fall in Astrid Lindgren's robber forests, she formulated.

The guys behind the Instagram account yourtravel.tv found themselves sitting in the row in front of Crown Princess Victoria during a flight from Munich to Stockholm earlier today. To their apparent delight she happily obliged to pose for a selfie.

So obviously Victoria and the children were coming back home from their skiing holiday, to celebrate Olle Westling on his 75th birthday.

Daniel was also with them, according to Stefan Bamberger from @yourtravel.tv: (so maybe these news about this meeting should be moved to Victoria, Daniel and Family, General News thread).

"That was really one of the highlights of this young year and in general! We posted it in the story, today we flew with @flysas and behind us were actually the Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria and her husband Daniel, as well as the children.
Sure, they were brought on the plane with the federal police and the security guards were there too.
So we looked very closely at what we do with the smartphone when I sent my mother a screenshot from Wikipedia, for example.
Nevertheless, it was one of the most pleasant encounters you can imagine.
Anyone who thinks to meet another person here is wrong. We were extremely pleasantly surprised after she agreed to a photo. After our second Prosecco, we weren't brave enough before."
https://www.instagram.com/p/B684SGqoenz/

They answer to people at the comments and say that Victoria was very sympathetic and above all, how quickly she agreed to the photo after they requested. They spoke english with her because they were not aware that she speaks German. They write that they were thinking and talking about asking for a photo about 1,5 hours and that probably Victoria understood them well when they discussed whether to ask at all and how, and probably Victoria had some fun. How to address was the crux of the matter. The security guards were already looking. Then the children were there, some don't like it. They didn't know how she would react, in the end it was really easier than they thought. Daniel spoke english with them too when he asked about their next destination after Sweden (they went to Hong Kong). And Estelle had crutches and the children were very nice too. One of the security guards sits behind Victoria. At one comment they write in english "She is more then down to earth. And Daniel and the kids as well. If u don’t know who they are, they r just like every other one. They are humans, neighbors, colleges, friends and so on. We have been so impressed about the family and HKH Victoria. Absolutely unbelievably and for us one time in a live"

"On the way to @Arlanda we met some spectators AND who bombs our selfi in the @SAS plane? Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden! It is nice to see that she, too, travels with her family "normally" and is extremely friendly."

Victoria has her first official work event after the Christmas holiday tomorrow, when she gives an audience to Birgitta Resvik, Senior Advisor Climate and Energy.

Victoria gave an audience to Birgitta Resvik, Senior Advisor Climate and Energy. She is a self-employed entrepreneur with a broad background in the climate and environmental fields. She is also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences IVA. On November 12, 2019, Birgitta Resvik was one of the speakers at a high-level seminar on sustainability in the Bernadotte Library in conjunction with IVA's 100th anniversary, where the Royal Couple and Crown Princess Couple attended.
The crown princess and Birgitta Resvik discussed about climate and energy issues concerning both Sweden and abroad.

Tonight at 18.00 a memorial with candle lighting was held in the Stockholm Cathedral. It was held in memory of those killed in the Tehran plane crash, and Crown Princess Victoria was in place, which was decided yesterday, but which the court first announced today.
With her she had several representatives of the official Sweden, including Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.
Wednesday a week ago a Boeing 737 belonging to Ukraine International Airlines, crashed shortly after takeoff from Tehran airport. All 176 on board were killed, and 17 of them lived in Sweden.

It's great to see Victoria working with LGBT+ organisations and also lovely to see her attend the memorial for the Ukraine plane crash victims.

While Victoria was at the Society and Defence National Conference in Sälen on 12-13th January, she met representatives of Bilkåren, Sveriges Bilkårers Riksförbund (Sweden Drivers Association), which recruits and trains vehicle drivers for Sweden's total defense, ie both volunteers for the Swedish Armed Forces and for civilian emergency preparedness.

During the first day of the Society and Defence National Conference in Sälen, Bilkåren was given the opportunity to meet the Crown Princess to discuss the total defense and the role of volunteers.
Bilkåren's National Guard Chief Ingela Kronlund was delighted with the opportunity to be invited to the meeting.
- "The Crown Princess showed great interest and asked many questions, ranging from how our operations work, how we conduct our work in defense and security policy to what is our members' motivation to want to get involved and make an effort."

Victoria met also other representatives of volunteer associations
"During the day, Sweden Drivers Association got a chance to meet Crown Princess Victoria with the Swedish Air Force Volunteers, Swedish Naval Volunteers and the Swedish Working Dog Association to talk about our organizations and discuss our role in the total defense."

A heavy evening for the Crown Princess.
Victoria was full of grief and seriousness. The memorial ceremony for the victims of the Iranian air tragedy became emotional.
It was a distinctly moved Victoria who was present in the church and among other things lit candles in memory of those who were killed.
Many were affected by grief in the church and couldn't miss that Victoria had a really heavy evening. Rarely has Victoria looked so distressed when she, in the company of the Prime Minister, lit the candles in front of the altar in the beautiful church.

It strikes me that CP Victoria is an extremely empathic woman. Having said that, I think such occasions really weigh heavily on her shoulders, but that it is a gift is indisputable.

Victoria is celebrated for her sheer joy in living and her trademark megawatt smile is both amazing and real and the people of Sweden hold her close to their hearts.

They "get" that Victoria unashamedly gives of herself wholeheartedly whether in joy or grief, both privately and publicly and that her emotion is not fake or for the press.

On Tuesday, January 21, the Crown Princess gave and audience to Gudrun Persson and Fredrik Westerlund from the Swedish Defence Research Agency, FOI (Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut).
At the meeting, the Crown Princess received a presentation of FOI's report "Russian military capability", which is issued approximately every three years on behalf of the Ministry of Defense.
The FOI report provides a forecast of Russian military capability until 2029. The forecast is based on analyzes of the armed forces and Russia's military discretion, as well as on political and economic factors affecting military development.

According to Aftonbladet Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is still in Poland after taking part in the ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz because one of the government planes broke down yet again. To make it possible for the nine elderly Holocaust survivors to get home to Sweden tonight the Crown Princess & some civil servants volunteered to spend the night at the airport.
The Prime minister & the Speaker of the Parliament also made it home tonight...

Crown Princess Victoria's departure from Auschwitz became a nightmare: The government plane was hit by an acute technical error.
- It became a technical error at the government plane - again. So the Crown Princess was forced to spend the night in Poland. She flew home with a regular flight that left at 5am this morning, with change in Warsaw. Now we have just landed at Arlanda, says Margareta Thorgren when we reach her just before eleven o'clock.
This means that the planned smooth journey from Katowice was completely frozen in and the Crown Princess was delayed home to Haga for more than half a day.
- We flew down with both government planes, the survivors and their companions went with one, and the Crown Princess, the Prime Minister and the Speaker with the other. And it was the crown princess's plane that broke down, says Margareta Thorgren.
- So that all the survivors could still come home, the Crown Princess relinquished her place in the plane.
It was well done.
- Yes it was. And there were also many who were deeply grateful for it. But it had been a long day for the survivors, with very strong feelings, and they are elderly. So the Crown Princess was worried about them and thought it was obvious that they would be allowed to come home.
This is the third time in just a few months that the royal family has remained on the ground when the government plane has broken. It must create great frustration for you?
- You must have a great deal of flexibility, and be prepared to change course quickly, says Margareta Thorgren diplomatically.
But that must be a challenge, with the royal family's minute-planned program?
- Yes, it gets complicated. But now we were lucky that the Crown Princess would be working at the office today. So in that way, no other mission became suffering.
- It is important to simply accept the circumstances.
How did the Crown Princess take this, to stay in Poland?
- She accepted the circumstances.

"As a patron of the Cancer Society's Pink Ribbon campaign, I have the privilege of following developments in some of cancer research and cancer care.
In this development, the national cancer strategy and the establishment of regional cancer centers have been milestones.
I know that it is unfortunately a while before everyone in our country has the same access to the same good care.
But I also know that fantastic progress has been made, with great significance both for society and for individuals."
"Like so many others in our country, I have friends and close relatives who are affected by cancer. Everyone testifies to the same thing: when you are at your most frightened and most extradited, when you are alone with your illness, then the treatment is everything."

On Monday, February 3, the Crown Princess attended an anniversary day to mark the national cancer strategy celebrating ten years. The aim of the strategy is to improve the quality of care for patients suffering from cancer.
The national cancer strategy was developed on the assignment of the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2009. The strategy has largely to focus on developing regional cancer centers that work to make cancer care more equal, doable and patient-focused.
During the anniversary day, which was arranged at the Karolinska Institutet in Solna, about 800 people are on site as workers or are involved in the development of cancer care in Sweden.

At a time when we are offered simple answers, we need to guard our ability to ask questions.

That is why it is so important that this opportunity exists for everyone. No matter where you live in the country, how old you are or where you come from.
You are many in here who devote your time and energy to this very thing: that we should have a lively arts and cultural life throughout our country. And that more people will have the opportunity to participate - either as an audience or as a practitioner.

The Crown Princess invited to "fika" at princess Sibylla's apartments and answered many questions from Emilia and her sister. Jennifer McShane, the Secretary General of Min Stora Dag (My Big Day) attend also at the meeting.
When the hour-long meeting came to an end, the Crown Princess was able to surprise the horse-interested Emilia with a ride through the capital with horse and carriage from The Royal Stables.
Madeleine is the patron of Min Stora Dag.

"I WANT TO MEET CROWN PRINCESS VICTORIA"
7-year-old Emilia is battling cancer in the form of a brain tumor called ependymoma. Emilia loves everything that is royal and usually watchES the Nobel dinner and TV shows with the Royal Family to see the princesses in their fine dresses. On her Big Day, she wanted to meet Crown Princess Victoria.
- I wanted to ask Crown Princess Victoria what it feels like to be a real princess and if she also has a hard time in life sometimes, even though she is a princess, Emilia told before the visit.
On Thursday morning, a nervous and very happy family was picked up by the limousine which drove them to the Royal Palace in Stockholm. ⠀
After arriving at the Palace, the family was taken up to the magnificent Blue Lounge in Princess Sibylla's apartment where cozy sofas, a large crackling fire and a dazzling cake table awaited. Then Crown Princess Victoria stepped in
It was a long, heartfelt and relaxed conversation about everything between heaven and earth. If the Crown Princess lived her first years in the Palace, which king in the order of her father the King is, that the diadem requires a lot of hairpins to remain on her head and that it is important to watch out when going down the stairs to the Nobel banquet in long dress. The Crown Princess and Emilia also talked about life - and that it goes up and down.
Emilia and her sister Maja also discovered that it was great to play and run around the Royal Palace and that the cakes on their saucer to their great joy were always filled. When it was time to say goodbye, the Crown Princess had arranged a real surprise. Watch the movie to see what it was!

- It was so wonderful to see the Crown Princess encourage Emilia! says My Big Day General Secretary Jennifer McShane to Svensk Damtidning.
- The whole of the Big Day became a fireworks display of positive experiences that filled with important joy and energy. Emilia beamed with the Crown Princess all the time, and the happiness even in the eyes of the little sisters and their parents was wonderful to witness. This will be a memory of life for Emilia and her family!
Emilia had with her her newly purchased handbag, in which she packed carefully a nice letter to Victoria. She had also brought her big book about princesses.
It was a happy Emilia who could look back on a truly successful day.
After Emilia's Big Day at Crown Princess Victoria at the Palace, the whole family got to go royal cortege.
- The best thing about my Big Day has been everything. To go to the Palace, meet the crown princess for real, to ride with the king's horses and carriage and to swim in the pool at the hotel, says Emilia.
The Big Day ended with hamburgers and new baths in the pool. A beautiful final on an unforgettable day.
This is how the royal family supports My Big Day
- It was a wonderful atmosphere at the Palace during Emilia's Big Day. Solemnly, of course, but at the same time so warm and relaxed, My Big Day General Secretary Jennifer McShane, who was also present during the day, tells Svensk Damtidning.
- It was noticed that time and care was spent on making this a special and memorable occasion. Emilia and her family received an incredibly warm response from the Crown Princess and everyone else present from the very first moment.
Hjärtevärmande stunden – Victoria bjöd cancersjuka Emilia till slottet Svensk Dam

Victoria's aide-de-camp colonel Laura Swaan Wrede takes the girls to princess Sibylla's apartment. "Have you been in Stockholm before?", she asks.
Emilia gaves her letter to Victoria. "To me?" says Victoria. "There are all her questions", says Emilia's mother. When they go to the table, Victoria says "Take as many as you like". Victoria goes to sit beside Emilia "I come to sit with you, so that you can help me to read everything what's in the paper". And in the end Victoria says "I heard that you like horses. Then I asked my father if you could ride with his horses at a big carriage".

This story made me smile - so heartwarming and a lovely gesture of Victoria to give Emilia and her sister a ride around Stockholm with the royal horses. It's sweet that a girl so young has a big interest in the SRF and even watches events like gala dinners too! ? I hope she pulls through her battle with cancer and this won't be the first and last time she'll ever meet Victoria.
Victoria seems so down-to-earth and considerate. She's one of my favourite royals for sure.?

Victoria attended today at the meeting of Stiftelsen Kronprinsessan Margaretas Minnesfond (The Crown Princess Margareta's Memorial Fund) at the Royal Palace.
The Memorial Fund is based on the fundraising that Swedish women made in 1920 to commemorate Crown Princess Margareta's memory. The grant is distributed for domestic social and charitable purposes to associations and institutions, whose activities can be considered to be of general benefit.

Awwwwwwww. :flowers::flowers:

(Not to ill-wish her father, but can she be queen already?)

I think Victoria's warmth and sincerity come because of or despite her own struggles, but she constantly, truly seems like such a nice, caring person. That was a very beautiful thing the Palace did, and I hope it helps Emilia.

Victoria had today lunch at the Royal Palace with Margot Wallström, the former Minister for Foreign Affairs (2014-19).
