Grand Duke Henri received in audience today 30 September , a delegation from the "SYPROLUX" union, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

This morning, October 1, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the "Solidarity Pyramid" day of Handicap International "on the occasion of a quadruple anniversary: the 40th anniversary of the creation of HI and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Ottawa treaty banning anti-personnel mines":

I was in Etternach last year, and also in Müllerthal/Mëllerdall. It is a lovely area and now is a lovely time of the year to be walking there, with the leaves changing colour and all that. They call the area Little Switzerland and I would say it is the prettiest part of the country.

The area looks like a wonderland. So lovely to see GD Henri hiking among all that beauty. And now is fortunate to be part of the world geoparks of UNESCO. https://en.unesco.org/global-geoparks

How wonderful that she is meeting with her countrymen while sharing her story - oh no, she is just meeting with the people that visit the place that she prefers to call home rather than the country her husband is the Head of State of... and she the Grand Duchess. At least, there was someone from Luxembourg, her husband...

ADD:With the Bonnevoie-Gellé elementary school, the Network of Associated Schools of UNESCO (ASPnet) has, since Friday, a 14th school in Luxembourg. The Grand Duchess, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for 25 years, took part, this Friday, 21Ictober in the ceremony of integration of the school into ASPnet made up of 11,528 establishments spread across 182 countries.

The LCGB union organized an academic session at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, reinforced by an exceptional concert by the Orquestra Philharmonique du Luxembourg.

This Monday is World Polio Day. The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the “Global Polio Eradication Initiative” (GPEI) 35 years ago with Rotary International as one of the founding partners. The Grand Duchess paid a visit this Tuesday 25 October to the Maison des Jeunes de Gasperich, managed by the non-profit organization Inter-Actions.

She was responding to the invitation of young people who wanted to give her the funds raised by their various organizations at “Stand Speak Rise Up!” and specifically to the Panzi Foundation of Dr. Denis Mukwegé.

The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess visited, this Wednesday 26 October in Esch-sur-Alzette, the Lycée Hubert Clément, host of the conference “European Youth – Values, Identity, Culture”. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Education, Mr. Claude Meisch, and the Mayor of Esch-sur-Alzette, Mr. Georges Mischo.
