HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (1900-2002)

I was just looking at the list of her brothers and sisters; she was the 9th of 10 children. However, she never got to know her eldest sister as The Hon. Violet died aged 11 in 1893; so 7 years prior to her birth. By late 1961 she had only one sibling left, her sister lady Rose who died in 1967. So, not only was she widowed for 50 years; the last 35 years of her life, she had no siblings left either.
 
What a gorgeous picture of the Queen Mum. She very well could have stepped right off the set of Downton Abbey. Very elegant!
 
There's a rather wonderful YT channel called Letters Live which contains some real gems. This is Olivia Coleman reading a letter from QE to QM who I presume would have been at Badminton House in Gloucestershire.

The sang froid of the French chef is tres splendide. ?

Olivia Coleman did such a fantastic job, IMO!
 
Frances Bowes-Lyon, Countess of Strathmore (1832-1922) was the paternal grandmother of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Are there any pictures of her with her granddaughter Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon?
 
Queen Elizabeth visited the British Industries Fair in 1939.

Yes and one of Diana’s great-aunts, Lady Lavinia Emily Spencer was an extra lady-in-waiting to QEQM and Lady Margaret Spencer was also a close friend of QEQM

For many years Lady Fermoy was always in the background at the Queen Mothers birthdays at Clarence house.
 
A letter written by the then Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon ,dated January 27th 1923 ahead of her wedding to the Duke of York was discovered in a second-hand book and is being put up for auction.
