The translation of what the Queen said could perhaps have been better. Her concerns were very valid. Many of the assignments the two Princesses have been on involved people from parts of the world where vaccinations are not as common. Illnesses that we take for granted to be very rare due to all children being vaccinated are more common in other parts of the world. The two Princesses are not sitting in an office all day. They are out among people and have much higher degree of risk in being exposed. The Queen also said ...perhaps they could cut back a little on their travel...
Exposed to what? People? That's the point of being a royal.
The pregnant women I know do not only sit in open plan office space but are exposed to people all day, to germs or bacteria while working and commuting to work by train with thousands of other people. In their lunch break they do grocery shopping mingling with hundreds of people in supermarkets. They manage to work 8 hours per day until 4 weeks before giving birth to healthy children.
So yes, I feel the Queen's comments are very much out of touch.
