Prince Daniel's tips to succeed as an entrepreneur
Today, students at Berzeliusskolan in Linköping could get business tips from Prince Daniel. The visit is a collaboration between the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Prince Daniel's Fellowship project.
Some students even got concrete tips about entrepreneurship from the prince. Aksel Riiga was interested in starting his own gym in the future.
Big commitment
The day started with a larger meeting in the school's aula and continued with discussions in several smaller groups. It was clear, both among school students and among the lecturers, that the interest in entrepreneurship was great.
Daniel says at the video:
"What are you passionate about? We work for very many years to create something we have our heart in, it's much easier if you think it's fun. A concrete tip ... get a mentor. An experienced person who has made a lot of mistakes that you can learn from. There was two, and you want three concrete tips. The third is just "go for it". Don't continue all the time and think about what you would have done, but do it."

Royal visit to the school in Linköping
On Tuesday, Berzeliusskolan got a little more nice visit than usual. His Royal Highness Prince Daniel and four entrepreneurs visited the school to inspire the students.
Leo Razzak, who is an actor and entrepreneur, was the moderator on stage. But he also told his experiences as self-employed, and worked a bit like a quotation machine with positive habitats.
Prince Daniel's Fellowship is a project within the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, that wants to inspire young entrepreneurship. That's why the company visited Linköping. The Prince started his own business when he was 21 years old.
On stage there were also three entrepreneurs who managed to take their startup companies a long way. Jessica Löfström told her about her trip with the company Expanderamera and how she did not really fit into school as young. Erik Fjellborg shared how he came up with an idea when he attended high school and worked at McDonald's, and the idea then became Quinyx.
The last entrepreneur was Jessica Schultz, who was born in Linköping. She tells that she did not think about starting a business when she plugged in the school. It came later when she had graduated, got a job and realized that she wanted to do something her own. Then she started the company Hellofresh, a company selling ready-made food bags, and now she works as an investor at Northzone.
After the entrepreneurs' stories and tips, they and students with Young Enterprise companies gathered in different classrooms to speak a little more intimately. One of the students' companies who received special tips by Prince Daniel and Jessica Schultz was "Your cup of tea". Their business idea was to sell gift bags with tea and coffee cakes. The prince immediately asked if they had set up a website and started selling.
"I have heard lots of exciting ideas today. It is impressive how you already have an engagement in early years and would like to make things environmentally friendly. Or if it's food products then they should contain good things", says Daniel.
One of the prince's best tips for succeeding in a new business is to dare to fail, and that business ideas change after time.
Daniel says at the video: "We talked also about that you don't have to work with your first business idea your whole life, and that a failure is more like an experience. And we talked also about Young Enterprise companies, which are done for a year at gymnasium and you can't lose anything else than your time and engagement if it isn't a success."

"Today we showed off our delicate crisp bread to H.R.H Prins Daniel. We also got the chance to learn more about running a company from the great entrepreneurs Jessica Schultz, Jessica Löfström and Erik Fjellborg. A instructive day that we will benefit from during our Young Enterprise year!"
