Carl Philip received a holiday home in Sunne as a christening gift. Soon after the King chose to buy a house next to it.
He sold this house last December, on 1 December last year registered the king's sale of his house at the National Land Survey in Uddevalla. The purchase price is SEK 625 000 and the new owners are a Norwegian couple of Jessheim in Norway - Stig and Gunny Bodin.
- Yes, it is true that the house has been sold. It has not been used for a long time and in recent years it has been leased and therefore it was better to sell, says Jan Lindman, financial director of the court.
- The house has been empty. It was used for a while by the SÄPO who was with the prince in Sunne, but recently they have found other solutions and then there was no reason to keep the house, says Lindman.
625 000 SEK. What the king does with the money?
- They go into the bank.
New owner Stig Bodin had no idea that it was the king's house he bought.
- No, not until the deal would be signed. A house is a house, a cottage is a cottage. There is nothing more to it.
In January, the couple moved in and are using it now as a summer residence with Carl Philip and Sofia as immediate neighbors, but they haven't yet seen the couple.
- No, but they are for us as the other neighbors at any time.
When you moved in, had the king left behind something?
- No, Stig laughs, not even a little ghost.
