I love the outfit. It is very beautiful.

She looks great. Understated, appropriate, not flashy at all. Not sure what people are seeing overdone in her eye makeup, but it looks just fine to me.

She was dressed in black. I didn’t particularly care for the cape but otherwise it was a black dress…amount many.

I may not be her biggest fan, but I have to say that her outfit today was stunning. I just wish she had worn pearls around her neckline.

Her makeup was fine. If you look at all the pictures .. it seems as if every woman’s makeup looks heavy. I think it’s mix of the photography and the various colors bouncing off the lights in the Abbey and at Windsor.

She looked pitch perfect today. The unrelieved black with no jewelry or adornment actually enhanced Meghan's beauty imo.

I suppose I am in the minority here. I thought Meghan looked absolutely stunning, but didn’t think her outfit was appropriate to the occasion. A quick look at the rest of Meghan’s family in attendance shows that this was not an event where bare arms were acceptable. The cape seemed to me like a nod at that- covering but not really- and she stuck out like a sore thumb.

Before the flames start flying, I am not personally suggesting that bare arms at a funeral are scandalous, inappropriate, or necessarily in any other context. But clearly there were certain expectations of dress for today, and Meghan had a wealth of wonderful women who might have advised her on what those were.

Let the flames fly.

Lady Louise also had bare arms, so Meghan wasn’t the only one. Granted, Lady Louise is also only 18.

I think the really long gloves she wore were meant to take care of that, but they ended up messing with the lines of the of the dress.

As I previously said, the neckline of the dress was marred by the zipper. The cape was theatrical, as were the long gloves, when she put them on at the end of the service. She had 10 days to get a proper dress and much more resources than the rest of us.

Doesn't Queen Letizia of Spain wear caped dresses like that sometimes? This one put me in mind of Queen Maxima's inauguration dress. Besides being blue, the Dutch queen's was long though. I liked that cape on Meagan's dress and thought she looked appropriate. It seemed a little tight across the bust though.

Thank you for rightly pointing this out about Lady Louise, HRHHermione.

I think you are right about the gloves in both respects although, as I said, I still think the overall look was magnificent.

Meghan's dress reminded me of what Empress Michiko of Japan used to wear as a favorite cut with shoulder arms turning into a waist long cape in day event dresses, and then long cape when wearing the crown for formal events.
I'm not fond of Meghan, or tolerant of her antics, since her 'event' at the Ellen Show making a fool of herself for absolutely no reason. But I had to say the lady knows what looks good on her and she is always impeccable in her style.

Apart from the bare arms, I thought she looked fine. I don't mind that zipper, I hardly noticed it.

I agree. She looked fine, in fact better than I can ever remember and outfit fit nicely. As far as zipper, I didn't scrutinize every detail on anyone so never noticed that small pull. At least she tried to blend in with the family decorum so for that reason I appreciate the effort. I am sure she had to run and get these mourning outfits as she certainly didn't expect to be attending the funeral of the Queen at this time and didn't pack proper clothes for the event. After all the things she and Harry stated about his family in recent years, she should have been rather scared. Certainly not my favorite person, but on this I will give her a B grade for effort. The Duchess was carrying and did wear 3/4 length black gloves. She took them off at one point. So did Sophie, carried and wore gloves. The gloves covered the Duchess’ arms that some thought should have been covered. I thought the Duchess look dignified, beautiful and stood by and supported her husband. The Queen would have approved.

I'm not a fan of cape-dresses, but it suits Meghan. I think she looked great and appropriate. The hat looked delicate.

I thought the shape and style of the hat was so flattering along with the eye makeup. I thought she looked very good.

The Duchess of Sussex at a roundtable discussion in Manchester at the beginning of September, thanks to Curryong!

Meghan looks very relaxed and comfortable I think. Suitable for a few hours sitting, listening and talking. Harry as well. Of course I prefer Meghan in bright colours but what she’s wearing is fine.

Extra casual here I think. Don’t think much of the colour of the outfit, but love the hat.

This looks good.

She really knows how to put together a polished look.

I think Meghan does know how to put together a polished look (eg, her look at the funeral of QE2), but this, to me, is not a polished look at all. I actually thought it was quite frumpy.

Not really out of season. It can get silly cold near the coast. Tourist always make this mistake when traveling to certain parts of California. I know I did it to when I spent a week in San Diego in JULY and had to buy a jacket because I was freezing.
