Isabella had taken the Poor Clare's habit before her death possibly in an act of penance.Following the queen mothers death her remains were brought back to London for burial at Grey Friars in London.

Christ Church Greyfriars which was a Franciscan house was dissolved in 1538 and many of its monuments, decoration and altars were vandalized or destroyed.
In the 1640's it served as a Presbyterian church and was totally destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666.
The church was reconstructed by Wren only to be destroyed again in December 1940 during the Blitz.

On this day, September 7, 1553 ~ Birth of Queen Elizabeth I of England at Greenwich Palace in London, England

The birth of Elizabeth sadly marked the start of her mother's downfall.Anne Boleyn was very unpopular with the general public following the divorce with Catherine of Aragon and the break with Rome and many blamed her for the religious changes in the land.
There was also very little public celebrations to mark Elizabeth's birth!
