Captain Sir Thomas Moore was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.

There were present: the Rt Hon Jacob Rees-Mogg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Robert Buckland MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice), the Rt Hon Oliver Dowden MP (Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports) and the Rt Hon Alister Jack MP (Secretary of State for Scotland).

The Queen received the Archbishop of York (the Most Reverend and Rt Hon Stephen Cottrell) via video link, who did homage upon his appointment.
The Rt Hon Robert Buckland MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.
The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh today took the salute at the Bugle Call, “No More Parades”, at Windsor Castle upon His Royal Highness retiring as Colonel-in-Chief, The Rifles.

The Queen today held a Meeting with Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and Head of the Diplomatic Service) via video link.
Her Majesty met Ms Miriam Escofet (portrait artist) who, with Sir Simon McDonald, unveiled a commissioned portrait of The Queen on behalf of Her Majesty.
The Queen heard about the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s contribution to the Covid-19 pandemic response and spoke to two members of staff about their roles.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Balmoral Castle from Windsor Castle this afternoon.
