A all purple look on Queen Sofia, can't say I'm a fan but the colour suits the kings mother.

The queen has worn this outfit before and very appropriate for the relaxed Lying in State at the Vatican.

She looks good but I expected her to wear at least a black veil. Not a full mantilla but at least a headpiece or something.

Anyway very nice that she added the brooch.

I’m glad that she attended. Hope it wasn’t too cold for her.

She was not the only one without mantilla, though.

Of course. I meant that I kind of expected her to wear a black veil at least. But also her refused to, which is totally fine.

The Papal protocol was relaxed for the Funeral of the late Pope so the mantilla was opitional.
I'd like to have seen Queen Sofia wearing one but the choice ofcourse lay with the queen herself.

Queen Sofia looks lovely and elegant, the brooch and pearls too are a nice touch.

A nice simple black look on Queen Sofia :previous:
