Which is the name among the great-children which is made-up?
Awful name. August was bad enough, Ernest is soem old Victorian uncle
Ernest is a beautiful name.
It seems there was no announcement from the Palace, even though there was one for the births of August Brooksbank and Sienna Mapelli Mozzi. Likewise, Zara Tindall's first two children were announced by the palace but her third child was not.
There was an announcement from the Palace, they did a press release right before Eugenie's Instagram post was up.
I had thought we might see Philip or Charles among the baby's names!
Thank you, could you link to it? I looked but could not find one.
Does anyone know how they pronounce his brother August's name? Is it "or"gust or "ow"gust?
August as well as Ernest (Ernst in German) are very old fashioned names. I have learned that old fashioned names are very much "The thing" in GB as well as in Germany. They have something like a renaissance. In fact, I like them better than all those crazy names like "ivy", "apple" or even names of the week, which are also very common today.
Maybe she was inspired by the House of Hanover who named their sons for many generations "Ernst August"?
