Solliden Sessions, concerts at outdoor stage at Kaffetorpet at Solliden
Solliden Sessions is a different concert concept with a stripped-down, genuine feel. Experience your favorite artists in the open air in the fantastic Swedish and Öland summer. Solliden Sessions
The King has got a new job - as a professional concert organizer.
This summer, Carl XVI Gustaf invites the Swedish people to gigs at Solliden.
The artist elite will go to Solliden to set the tone for the stage that the King had built next to the palace twenty years ago.
It has been modestly used, but from July 3, "Solliden Sessions" starts. Peter Jöback is first out and then Lill Lindfors, Carola Häggkvist and Arvingarna, among others, will perform for a seated audience. The king should be happy with the line-up as he holds a veto in the planning of each artist event.
Arvingarna's frontman Casper Janebrink is looking forward to the assignment, he said that of course it will be very fun to come to Solliden. They look forward to that, and to finally get out again and play. It has been a long and frustrating time with uncertainty and hopes of going out again and meeting the audience.
Hasse Andersson is also tagged for the summer job. A.few years ago, he had the opportunity to build Hasse's Garden at Solliden Palace in The Themed Gardens competition. Their garden won the audience award and his family and he were overjoyed! Since then, he has visited Solliden every year with his wife and walked around the beautiful park. He admires the royal family and think it's extra fun to play at Solliden.
"Solliden Sessions" is a collaboration between Solliden and Krall Entertainment.

King Carl XVI Gustaf opens up the garden, then the Swedish artist elite makes a pilgrimage to Öland.
This summer, Carola, Lena Philipsson, Lisa Nilsson and several other stars will perform at Solliden Palace.
In 2001, King Carl Gustaf had a small wooden concert stage built next to Solliden. It hasn't been used much, largely only in the National Day celebration.
This summer stars will be shining there. Then the icing on the cake of the Swedish artist elite comes to Öland for intimate concerts. The premiere is on July 3, when Peter Jöback will be on stage.
- We have kept this a secret for a long time. We will of course make sure that there are places for the royal family, they have a reserved area in front of the stage, says organizer Patrik Krall.
How do you get such a good line-up of artists? Does the king have anything to say about when it comes to choosing artists?
- The Solliden brand attracts of course. And we are making a long-term investment meant to be for many years. We want to build a small nice playground on classic land. Yes, of course he has. It is his property and his facility, so of course he wants to be involved and like and think.
Arvingarna's Casper Janebrink thinks that Solliden's investment is welcome after a tough year, it feels like the king is aware that this is an industry that has been hit very hard during the pandemic.
Solliden's managing director Carolina Thaysen tells that there has been thoughts of doing something more with the stage for a long time. Kaffetorpet is outside the Palace park and it is a fantastic little cozy cultural area with a small wooden stage. The royal family is aware of the program that Thaysen and her colleagues have developed for the summer. They think it looks good. But they don't get involved in the business at a detailed level. Thaysen hopes they will find it nice.

The king becomes pop king - stars are seen at Solliden
The royal family is close to concerts in the usual case due to the proximity to the Borgholm Castle Ruins, now they get even closer.
When the Castle Ruins set up, the "pop king" takes over. Namely Carl XVI Gustaf.
Starting on July 3, Solliden Palace / Krall Entertaiment will start their own concert summer, Solliden Sessions, where names like Peter Jöback, Lisa Nilsson, Lena Philipsson and Carola will be seen on Kaffetorpet's stage.
The idea behind the event is really a symbiosis. The Solliden people thought "how to use Kaffetorpet's stage more and better" while the Krall gang scouted the outdoor stage during the GES (Anders Glenmark, Thomas Orup Eriksson, Niklas Strömstedt) summers, lured there by fika.
- That was when the idea was raised, that here it would be absolutely perfect to have small, exclusive concerts. We have fallen in love with this place, says Patrik Krall, CEO of Krall Entertaiment
The first contacts were made last autumn with "here we go" a few months ago. Patrik Krall reveals that the choice of artists has to do with the place.
- The artists must fit the brand Solliden Palace. We are not looking for a party, but here it should feel generous, exclusive and luxurious with a high level of artists.
The audience maximum is currently set at 500 people, all seated - from near the edge of the stage up to the cliff.
