The Duchess of Norfolk walked into the State Banquet for SA with Prince Edward sans tiara (but w/a gorgeous necklace). Do the Norfolks not have any tiaras?

Apparently not as that necklace was also worn by the wife of the Duke's oldest son at her Wedding a few years ago.

The engagement was announced between Lord Philip Fitzalan Howard (b.14 July 1996) [youngest of five children of Edward William Fitzalan-Howard, 18th Duke of Norfolk, GCVO (b.2 December 1956), of Arundel Castle, & his first wife, Georgina Susan Gore (b.30 January, 1962)] & Georgia Rose Fowler (b.1995) [daughter of Rupert John Fowler (b.1962), of Hungerford, West Berkshire & his wife Belinda, nee Coldrey (b.1962)] on 3 December.

Given the Cost of Living Crisis affecting so many households this is a very kind gesture by the duke.

@Tatiana Maria here’s an article (yes the Daily Mail is a questionable source but it highlighted some of the things I mentioned in this thread about maintenance of estates and debts) please check it for yourself. I can’t post the link because I don’t know how. Please type Ned Lambton and check it out.

According to Tatler, the Marquess and Marchioness of Bath have purchased a home in Belgravia where Winston Churchill died in and was once owned by Donatella Flick.

Lady Glenconner has made a fortune in sales from her books.

She looks incredible. The dress is stunning!!

Whenever this thread becomes active, it's almost invariably due to the Marchioness of Bath!

Don't any other aristocrats ever leave their stately homes?

well the idea of well to do people going to parties and entertaining the masses by being photographed in a fancy dress is kind of out of date, now.

I mentioned something recently about Lady Anne Glenconner’s books doing well but no one responded to that. Plus not all live in stately homes, some live in London or wherever city and go to the country (for those who have a country home or can afford one) on the weekends.
