Generation Pep organized a seminar at the Riksdag on 12th May
For four years, the non-profit organization Generation Pep has released Sweden's most comprehensive, and only annual, report on the living conditions of children and young people. In April 2022 comes the latest report.
During the seminar, the main results from this year's report will be presented and then discussed.
In addition to Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft among the speakers were Kristina Sparreljung, Secretary General of the Heart-Lung Foundation and Sissela Nutley, Ph.D in neuropsychology at Karolinska Institutet.

This year's certified Generation Pep schools!
In 2018, Generation Pep launched school initiative Generation Pep Skola - the digital and free tool, which supports schools in working with physical activity and healthy meals as a natural part of the school day. In autumn 2020, the possibility was also opened up that schools can now become certified Generation Pep schools - and now we can proudly present the schools that are certified for the year 2022.
The schools were appointed at the beginning of the year and will now celebrate in May in different ways. Everyone has received a flag to hoist and a diploma from Generation Pep signed Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft and Prince Daniel.

Promoting good health for children and young people is one of the Crown Princess Couple's foundation's focus areas. At today's seminar, four schools were invited, which in the spring conducted tests to increase physical activity during the school day. Teachers and students told about their experiences of the test, what the results were and what lessons they took with them. The moderator for the day was Kristina "Keyyo" Petrushina.

Victoria said at her opening speech among other things:
It is so fun to welcome you here to the Royal Palace and the Bernadotte Library. Here, among my ancestors' book collections, we often have lectures and concerts. Today we are here to discuss something that is very close to Prince Daniel's and my heart.
Prince Daniel and I look forward to hearing more about your experiences. And I hope that all of us who are here today will have the opportunity to learn and be inspired, by each other. Because we train not only to feel good today, but also to lay the foundation for feeling good in the future.

For the third year in a row, Fritidsbanken and Generation Pep break the sedentary and offer lots of free activities all over the country. Fritidsbanken collects everyday sports and outdoor items that are no longer used and lends them for free, just like a library.
The Tour Fritidsbanken Pep Up, arranged by Generation Pep and Fritidsbanken, takes place between 13 June and 19 August, in 41 locations. Fritidsbanken fills its vans and goes on tour, so that children and young people will have the opportunity to try out a lot of different activities at home. New for this year is the "Children's obstacle course", where children themselves can use their creativity to build a fun, challenging and cool obstacle course that others can try later.
- Through this collaboration with Fritidsbanken, we can ensure that more children and young people are inspired and have an increased opportunity to borrow and try out equipment for free to try out new activities. We want to spread the joy of movement and show that it is easy and fun to move around outdoors, says Carolina Klüft, operations manager at Generation Pep.

Feelgood starts a collaboration with Generation Pep to work together to improve the health of children and young people. The focus of the collaboration is to jointly reach out to families and increase knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of physical activity and good eating habits. Generation Pep and Feelgood share the view that early promotion and preventive measures for health are needed for Sweden to feel better.
- Healthy habits are founded at home in the family, so it feels good that Generation Pep together with Feelgood can reach out to many families with children and influence the families' habits around movement and food. We know that children often do as we adults - which is why it is important to activate the whole family, says Carolina Klüft, operations manager at Generation Pep.

The report shows that there is a great deal of mistrust of the police and authorities among young people in Malmö and Helsingborg, and that young people appreciate efforts from civil society. The report also reflects young people's own experiences of growing up with crime and insecurity constantly present.

Täby FC and Generation PEP have signed an agreement for the 2022/23 season based on the common ambition that all children and young people should want and be able to live an active and healthy life.
Täby FC and Generation PEP start the collaboration to strengthen the work with children and young people's health in a constructive way. Täby FC is a floorball association that will run floorball for as many people as possible, for as long as possible, in as good a business as possible. We want everyone to be able to participate and want to lower the thresholds for participation in every way we can, we hope this collaboration strengthens that work.
Our first initiative will be that Generation PEP can be seen on all match jerseys in the association with exclusivity on the chest area financed by our sponsors.
Carolina Klüft, Operations Manager Generation PEP:
- The whole society needs to gather strength to improve the conditions for the health of children and young people, and we at Generation Pep think Täby FC's commitment to this important issue is both exciting and inspiring. We look forward to working together in the future and are proud to be seen on Täby FC's jerseys.

The students at Steningehöjden's school tried out para sports together with Victoria and Daniel. Just like Victoria and Daniel, Sigtuna municipality wants everyone to be able to have an active leisure time regardless of disability. They have started a new venture called Sigtuna Funkis, so that people with disabilities will have a larger and more easily accessible range of leisure activities. The goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to find a regular activity.
The students in class 9C got to try floor curling and the para sport goalball, activities that should be able to be practiced by the vast majority. The equipment is brand new and borrowed from Fritidsbanken. The Crown Princess Couple's Foundation provides, among other things, financial support to Fritidsbanken Sverige, which over the years has bought in more material for para sports. The aim is for leisure activities to become more accessible to everyone.

The court about the visit
Victoria and Daniel began their visit to Fritidsbanken in Märsta. Fritidsbanken collects sports and outdoor equipment and lends it, much like a library. Fritidsbanken started in 2013 and is currently available in over 100 locations in the country.
During 2022, Fritidsbanken will implement a pilot project, Lekoteket, with support from the Crown Princess Couple's Foundation. The purpose of Lekoteket is to let students run their own Fritidsbanken at schools where the equipment is loaned out during breaks.
The visit continued at Steningehöjden's school, where class 9C, which regularly uses Fritidsbanken, demonstrated two parasport activities goalball and floorcurling.

We had the honor of meeting the Crown Princess Couple at Fritidsbanken Sigtuna Municipality I had the chance to present @fritidsbanken school investment and what we created during the year. Obviously moved by the fact that both Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria were so relaxed, knowledgeable, well-read and committed to the issue! Several opportunities for very interesting spontaneous conversations and discussions were offered during the day. We talked about the possibilities and development of play (the Convention on the Rights of the Child). Good conditions for movement and health. Safety and trust in society. How to create good relationships and community. About sustainability and the environment Agenda 2030 and it is important that we start with the children. All the energy and work put in over the years to develop the game, the community and the safety of the school, the after-school center and the recess activities. And that this path is now led by Fritidsbanken to develop Lekotek pedagogy in schools feels great. In addition, the fact that we join hands and cooperate with several other organizations feels sustainable and instructive. Am extremely proud of my employees and our organization and all the opportunities that everyone sees

About Victoria and Daniel at the Day of The Right of Public Access (Allemansrättens Dag) in Akalla on 20th September.
Influencer Margaux Dietz participated in the Youtube series Revolution Race, and started to take an interest in forests and The Right of Public Access.
Margaux spent a day with Victoria on the Day of The Right of Public Access, and shares it on YouTube.
When Margaux arrives to Akalla, she notes that many people want to have a chat with Victoria and Daniel.
- Everyone who walks around here is completely shocked when they see the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel, she says.
Finally, she gets her chat with Victoria and they talk about the Public Access and their shared interest in nature.
But it is not only Victoria who gets attention. Some children recognize Margaux and ask for a selfie. And Victoria acts as a photographer.
- Should I take the photo this time or not? It's nice, says Victoria.
- Hahaha, this is crazy! says Margaux.
At home Margaux is noticeably taken by Victoria's behavior and says "What a woman she is, Crown Princess Victoria. I am so impressed how you can be a crown princess and really have your feet on the ground". Margaux says that it feels like Victoria really genuinely loves the Swedish forest. It would be a dream to make it through the wilderness with her.

Generation Pep's operations manager Carolina Klüft has been promoted as an honorary doctor in medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, at the University's graduation ceremony in the Congress Hall at the Swedish Fair in Gothenburg on 28th October.
Carolina was the youngest athlete of all time to become European, World and Olympic champion. After her elite sports career, Carolina has continued her involvement in sports. As operations manager of Generation Pep, she works to ensure that children and young people can be physically active and have a healthy life.
With Carolina Klüft as an honorary doctor, the light is put on the Sahlgrenska Academy's endeavor to promote the health of the population through a physically active lifestyle. Her work is in line with the research on activity, lifestyle and health that is conducted at the University of Gothenburg.
- I have received many awards and prizes during my career. But this award is something special, Carolina said during her honorary lecture this week.

Honorary doctor Carolina Klüft held her honorary lecture on the Sports Research Day 27th October at the University of Gothenburg.
The title of Carolina's lecture was "My journey". It was an appropriate topic because around half of the audience were students at the National Sports University who combine university studies with an elite career. Carolina began her story with how she started athletics as an 11-year-old and immediately thought it was great fun.
- Joy has always been my strongest driving force. Having fun and finding the joy in everything was very much throughout my career. I have enjoyed being in the big arenas and competing.
Carolina described seven stage goals in her journey to the top, drive and motivation were the first and most fundamental. Other stage goals were to differentiate performance and self-esteem, leadership and team building, listening to one's inner voice, dealing with and learning from setbacks, recovery and perseverance.

Only two out of ten children reach the recommended daily amount of physical activity. That worries Carolina Klüft.
- It is clear that you are horrified, says the Olympic hero who was recently awarded an honorary doctor's hat for her work with Generation Pep.
In January 2019 Carolina became operations manager for Generation Pep. An organization started by Victoria and Daniel to "work based on our vision that all children and young people in Sweden should have the opportunity and the desire to live an active and healthy life". There, Sweden faces enormous challenges.
But Carolina is positive. Generation Pep works daily to increase knowledge and spread the message in preschools, schools and through other events.
Carolina praises the support from Victoria and Daniel. Victoria and Daniel's commitment is very genuine and long-term. It is exactly as it has been from the beginning. It is clear that Victoria and Daniel have a lot of other things that they should devote themselves to for Sweden, Generation Pep is only a small part of it. But their commitment to the issue is the same. There is indeed support and power. Victoria and Daniel think Carolina and Generation Pep do a good job and are involved in pushing, guiding, encouraging and coming up with ideas. So Victoria and Daniel are a very important part.
